Today I finally understood more of music theory in laptop musicianship classes. Julio was explaining things using a piano and this way I think most of us understood a lot more than ever before about intervals and scales, how to count intervals (distance between two notes), so in C Major Scale there is 2 intervals between C and D. Four between C and E. Five between C and F. Seven Between C and G. Nine between C and A and 11 between C and B. All together it’s 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11. Seems obvious but wasn’t before even if I was going through this more than a few times. I need to go through the rest and absorb it but I am kind of happy I understood at least this. Music theory was never my favourite thing to know about. I am about just making without the knowledge behind it, but things have changed, and days of just playing with your sequencer for fun are over : ) It’s hard work now and I need to learn SC and Music theory fast. Hopefully soon I will be a musical genius, voice of the generation.. yeah right.
